It had to go by more than 10 years (3,650 days approximately) in order to I was able to finish this second edition of "1001 tips in Orthodontics and its secrets".

In this inter, I was not absent, I have been working hard in new and different projects I have published four more books ("Contemporary Orthodontics, Diagnosis and treatment", "From impression to activation in Orthodontics and Orthopedics" and "Art of Applied Orthodontics", Volume 1 and 2), I have developed, together with my friend, Oscar Quirós a low friction brackets system (QR Biofunctional System), I founded the Instituto Mexicano de Ortodoncia (IMO) postgraduate in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, where the specialty in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics is given full time and, until now, I have lead it with great pride together with a great human beings team During these 10 years, I was fortunate to be able to contribute a bit in the education of more than 172 specialists in orthodontics, I have flown about 1,000,000 kilometers around the globe (equivalent to 25 laps around the world on the line of Ecuador) and I have spent nearly 15,000 hours dictating lectures, courses, classes and clinics. Finally, in one way or another, I have had the fortune to accumulate experiences and experiences which I pour with great emotion and positive energy in this new edition.

After these 10 years of having gone into circulation the first edition of "1001 Tips in Orthodontics and its secrets" and to observe the extraordinary reception it has had in different countries, both Spanish-speaking and other languages (since that book has been translated into Portuguese, English, Italian, Arabic and Korean), I feel really committed to my readers and colleagues to present this second edition where they will find new tips and illustrations according to the latest technological advances that have been achieved in the "Art of Orthodontics".

This 2nd edition consists of 11 chapters, which 7 of them new, and they are:
Chapter 1. Tips in Orthodontics. Where my own and my team of professionals both experience is reflected to correct the usual problems of orthodontic practice.
Chapter 2. QR biofunctional system. A new low friction system created by Dr. Oscar Quirós Alvarez and his server is described.
Chapter 3. Trainers. Excellent alternative to eradicate different habits They are simple, practical and easy to use.
Chapter 4. Extraoral traction in maxillofacial orthopedics. Different orthopedic devices are presented for the correction of hypoplasias and bone hyperplasias.xiv Foreword

Chapter 9. Molar verticalization. Here, I describe in detail some solutions for a correct molar orientation in relation to its occlusal plane.
Chapter 10. TADs. This is a new chapter where the different dental movements and the TADs as auxiliary are clearly mentioned.

The chapters with the themes about anchorage, crossbite, habits and action and reaction were updated and improved and are still present in this 2nd edition.

In a work meeting that I had with my dear friend Rafael Cortes Lopez, president of Editorial AMOLCA, where we analyzed and searched for the "why" of the wide, diverse and successful dissemination that the first edition had, we came to the conclusion that the fundamental factor is that this literary work has the particularity of being "Practical and easy to understand".

I acknowledge that this second edition of "1001 Tips in Orthodontics and its secrets" is the sum of the efforts of an extraordinary team of professionals Orthodontics and without their support it would not have been possible to have produced this book that put his provision.

On one occasion, while dictating a conference in South America, one of the doctors attending the congress asked me the following question: "Dr. Esequiel Rodríguez, do you consider yourself a lucky man? " I replied: "My dear colleague, I am a very lucky man, since my philosophy of luck is:
Learning how to Use
Carefully my resources and Knowledge to be successful.
I hope you enjoy this work and it will be the basis of a successful orthodontics.

Best regards.
