Author
Amulya Kumar Saxena graduated summa cum laude from the Medical University of Pecs, Hungary, in 1992. He subsequently specialized in Pediatric Surgery at the Department of Pediatric Surgery, Westfälische Wilhelms University Münster, Germany, becoming Chief Consultant Pediatric Surgeon there in 2003. He is currently Associate Professor and Deputy Director of the Department of Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery, Medical University of Graz, Austria. He is also Head of Experimental Fetal Surgery and the Tissue Engineering Unit at the university. Dr. Saxena has been the recipient of various awards, including the European Research Institute Award for Outstanding Clinical Applied Research, the Dr. Farooq Abdullah Award for Best Research Paper (Senior Category), and, most recently, the “Hans-Salzer Prize” from the Austrian Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Surgery. He has been an invited guest professor at various departments of pediatric surgery across the world. He is a regular speaker at international conferences and the author of more than 80 original articles in peer-reviewed journals.
