Authors
• Jeff G. Konin, PhD, ATC, PT, FACSM, FNATA is a professor and the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of Rhode Island in Kingston, Rhode Island. He previously served as an Associate Professor and the Vice Chair of the Department of Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, and as an Associate professor and the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He received his undergraduate degree in physical education in 1988 from Eastern Connecticut State University, Willimantic; a Master of Education in athletic training/sports medicine in 1989 from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville; and a Master of Physical Therapy degree in 1994 from the University of Delaware, Newark. He earned his PhD in 2004 in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale-Davie, Florida.
• Margaret Frederick Thompson, EdD, ATC, LAT is an associate professor in the Athletic Training program at Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. She holds a BS degree in Health Science with a concentration in Athletic Training from James Madison University, where she also earned a Master of Science degree in kinesiology. Thompson received her Doctorate of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, South Carolina.
