Dr. Rooma Sinha is one of the leading Minimal Access & Robotic Gynecological surgeons in India presently attached to Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad
She is in clinical parctice for the last 25 years. Observerships at Strong Memorial Hospital, University of Rochester, USA for Minimal Access Surgery and at Mercy Hospital for Urogynecology, Melbourne gave her international perspectives to her skills. Since 2012, she updated her surgical skills to offer Robotic Assisted Surgey to her patients and become one of the leading and most experienced robotic surgeon in India.
She has been awarded Honorary Professor, Apollo Health Education & Research Foundation and Conjoint Associate Professor at Macquarie University Sydney, Australia and is the Clinical Lead Specialist in Gynecology for Macquarie MD program. She is the lead faculty in Fellowship program in Minimal Access & Robotic Surgery at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad.
Actively involved in publications she has over 30 papers and chapters in Books and National & International Journals. She is board certified from the National Board (DNB) and Member of National Academy of Medical Sciences (MNAMS), India as well as Fellow of Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynecology (FICOG).
• Dr Arnold Advincula
Dr. Advincula is a leader in minimally invasive surgical techniques and one of the world’s most experienced gynecologic robotic surgeons. He has published and taught extensively in the area of minimally invasive surgery as well as developed surgical instruments in use worldwide. Dr. Advincula is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist and a fellow of both the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the American College of Surgeons.
In 2014, Dr. Advincula accepted the position of Levine Family Professor, Vice-Chair of Women’s Health & Chief of Gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women, Columbia University Irving Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Advincula brings 20 years of clinical expertise, innovation and leadership to the position. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, he also serves as Co-director of the AAGL accredited Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery
Dr. Advincula serves on numerous editorial boards including OBG Management where he manages a widely viewed video education channel. Dr. Advincula has served on the board of the Society of Gynecologic Surgeons in addition to18 months as President of the AAGL where he helped rebrand the strategic direction of a global minimally invasive gynecologic surgery society of nearly 8000 members.
• Dr A Kurian Joseph
A student from Stanley Medical College Chennai, he did his postgraduation from the Madras Medical College. After his MD, he was trained at various centers of excellence on Endoscopy and fertility management. He worked with his father Prof A. K. Joseph and developed a good obstetric and gynecology practice. He is trained in Laser Endoscopy surgery and was one of the first in India to do so. Dr Joseph was in the forefront on the National Laparoscopic Tubal ligation program and set up and trained many doctors in laparoscopic Tubal ligation. Started the first PPP endoscopy program with the German GTZ and Karl Storz under the UN University (Bonn) to train endoscopists in smaller towns to effectively use the instruments.
He started the Joseph Nursing Home which later became the Joseph Hospitals as a tertiary care center for women with advanced Obstetric care and one of South India’s best Endoscopy centers. His hospital was recognized as the training center at different times by FOGSI, AOFOG and the ISGE.
Dr. Kurian was elected as the Vice President of the Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecology Societies of India (FOGSI), the President of the Asia Oceania Federation of Obstetrics & Gynecology (AOFOG), and is today a Board member of the International Society of Gynecological Endoscopy (ISGE). He has also served as a member of the scientific committee of FIGO conference at Vancouver.
He has delivered numerous guest lectures and Orations in India and around the world and has published multiple articles in Endoscopy and Obstetrics.
