Authors
• David A Hilton is an experienced diagnostic neuropathologist working in one of the UK’s largest hospitals in Plymouth and is a fellow of the UK Royal College of Pathologists. His practice covers all areas of adult neuropathology, including neurosurgical pathology, autopsy work, and neuromuscular disease (including the undertaking of muscle and nerve biopsies on patients). In addition he is actively involved in research, including aspects of prion diseases and tumour biology, and has published over 100 peer reviewed research articles and written several book chapters, covering many aspects of neuropathology.
• Aditya G Shivane has been working as a Consultant Neuropathologist in University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust since 2009. He graduated from India in 1998. After completing post-graduation (MD, taught) in Pathology from Mumbai University (2001) he worked briefly as a Senior Registrar in the Department of Neuropathology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru, India, before coming to the UK to undertake specialist Neuropathology training in Leeds. He became a fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists in 2008. His areas of interest include CNS tumours, neuromuscular disorders, ophthalmic pathology and haemato-lymphoid neoplasms. He is actively involved in teaching neuropathology to undergraduate and postgraduate students and serves as an academic tutor at the University of Plymouth Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry.
