Author
Dr. Ronaldo Hirata received his DDS degree from Federal University of Parana, in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1994. He received his certificate in Restorative Dentistry Residency from the same University in 1996. Dr. Hirata did his Master of Science program in biomaterials and received the certificate from the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), in 2002. His PhD certificate was received on Restorative Dentistry at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), finished in 2008. In 2012, Dr. Hirata started to work on the Biomaterials and Biomimetics field at New York University receiving his Post Doctoral certificate in 2013. Ronaldo Hirata had dedicated 10 years to teaching at the Federal University of Parana. Nowadays, he has the faculty position at New York University as assistant professor of Biomaterials and Biomimetics Department.

He is the coordinator of the post graduate program on restorative dentistry on Center for Studies and Advanced Training in dentistry (CETAO) in Sao Paulo/Brazil. Dr. Hirata is also professor in the post graduate program on Aesthetic Dentistry in SENAC (Sao Paulo/Brazil). He is the coordinator of the advanced course on dental sculpture with composite resins in Latin American Institute of Research and Education Dentistry (ILAPEO-Brazil). He is on editorial board of the Journal of the Brazilian Society of Aesthetic Dentistry and also on International Journal of Brazilian Dentistry. Ronaldo Hirata is the author of the textbook TIPS: tips on esthetic dentistry (Artes Medicas Publisher). www.tips-book.com. This book was translated to Spanish and Italian by Panamericana and Piccin respectively. He also published a lot of papers in Brazil, Latin America and USA on esthetic dentistry.
